What if I become ill?
Your Employing Company has the discretion to grant an immediate ill-health pension if you become ill or incapacitated, subject to supporting medical advice. The benefits available will depend on the severity of your illness and the section of the SOCPF that you are member of. In the most serious ill-health cases, it may be possible to exchange all your pension benefits for an immediate one-off lump sum ('serious ill-health commutation').
