Goldman Sachs has become the new asset manager for SOCPF from 1 October 2025

An asset manager is responsible for managing investments on behalf of clients – in this case, the SOCPF. Their role is to implement our decisions on where and how to invest the Fund’s money to help it grow over time and put them into practice, while carefully managing risk.

On 1 October, Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) took over as the new asset manager for the SOCPF, replacing  Shell Asset Management Company (SAMCo). This change follows a company restructure, which means SAMCo is no longer providing asset management services to the Fund.

GSAM is a globally recognised firm with strong experience in managing large investment portfolios. After a detailed selection process, we chose GSAM as the best fit to manage the Fund’s assets. The Company fully supports this change and believes it will bring long-term benefits to the Fund.

What does this change mean for you?

Your benefits in the SOCPF won’t be affected by the change of asset manager. The Trustee Services Unit will continue to manage all pension administration, and the Fund’s investment strategy will also stay the same. Aon will continue as our Investment Adviser, ensuring continuity and expertise during the transition from SAMCo to GSAM.
