Changes to the Trustee Board

Last year, we invited applications for two Member-Nominated Trustee Directors (MNDs). We held interviews with the shortlisted candidates and announced the outcome on the pensions website. Here’s a quick recap, in case you missed it.

Board appointments

Moon Hussain

Moon had previously served one term in the MND role and we were delighted when he decided to apply again. Moon’s commercial and risk management experience are valuable to the Board and he will continue to chair the Risk and Operations Committee.

Kaego Uba-Machie

Kaego’s term also came to an end and we would like to thank her for her contributions over the last four years and wish her all the best. In Kaego’s place, we welcome Karen Tew. You can read more about Karen below.

We’ve had one more change to the Board, as Ian Franklin left Shell in July 2026 and is no longer a Company Appointed Trustee. Our sincere thanks go to Ian and we hope he enjoys his new venture. Quang Tran has joined the Board in Ian’s place – there’s more information about him below.

Karen Tew

Karen joined the Trustee Board as an MND in 2026 and is a member of the Risk and Operations Committee and ESG Forum. Karen is a Pensioner member of the SCPF and joined Shell after previously qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG. During her 12 year career at Shell, Karen held a range of Finance and Trading positions. More recently, she has worked in energy transition and holds non-executive director positions within the health and care sector.

Quang Tran

Quang joined the Trustee Board in 2026 and is a member of the Risk and Operations Committee. Alongside this, he is currently Vice President, Reward and based in London.
