When a member dies

The loss of a loved one is always a difficult time and we want to do all we can to help your family. Please make sure your family, or the executor of your will, is aware that you have a pension with the SCPF and knows how to get in touch with us after your death.

Telling us of a death

Contact can be by phone or email:

Phone: 020 7934 1190

Email: uk-PensionsAdmin@shell.com

We’ll need the following information about the member:

  • their full name and date of birth
  • their pension number (if known) or National Insurance number
  • the date they died

If the member was a main Fund member (not receiving a dependant’s pension), we will need the details of any spouse, civil partner or financially dependent person – they may be entitled to receive a dependant’s pension from the Fund.

What happens next

Once we’ve received all the information required to establish a spouse’s, civil partner’s, or financially dependent person’s pension, we will arrange for the pension to be put into payment.
